Chili Cookoff This Friday
This Friday the 13th won't be bad
luck for the winners of the Chili Cookoff or for
those of us who taste the wonderful samples. So,
cast aside your paraskavedekatriaphobia (fear of
Friday the 13th) and join the fun. For
$5 you can taste samples of each entry and cast a
vote for your favorite chili. Socializing starts at
4:30 p.m. at the Ramada, tasting starts at 5:00. The
Hospitality Team will provide corn bread,
condiments, beer, wine, and soft drinks. See
details at the end of this memo if you want to enter
the contest.
Attention Fiber Arts Group
This week's gathering on Thursday at 1:00
p.m. will be held at Jane
Ellingson's house (160 Holgado).
Drop by to work on your project or just to
socialize.
Tennis Group Wants New Members
Anyone interested in just playing tennis
"for fun" is invited to join the play
on Fridays at 9:00 a.m. at
the EE courts on Circulo del Sur. Once
a month the group goes to breakfast
after tennis is over.
Attention New Residents
The EE Bienvenidos Committee will hold its annual
reception for new residents on Wednesday,
January 11, at 4:00 p.m. at the Ramada. If
you have not already done so, please RSVP to
Barb McCalpin (867-8067) or Cynthia
Surprise (857-209-1978).
Enhancement Team Auction
The Enhancement Team will hold a live
auction at the Ramada on Friday,
January 20. Preview items from
12:00 - 1:00 p.m. The auction starts
promptly at 1:00.
Please note, you'll need to show a driver's
license or other form of identification to
register to bid on items. Only cash
and checks are acceptable forms of
payment. As with all Enhancement events,
proceeds will benefit our neighborhood.
Donate to the Enhancement Team Auction
The team is still looking for more items to
sell in the auction. In
addition to interesting or high-end items,
you can donate a service. For example, if
you are a great cook, you could donate a
homemade dinner. (I'll bid on that one.)
Call Linda
Sielken at 908-240-1887
to donate.
EE Home Tour
Finished a renovation project? Do people
always compliment your decor? The EE Home
Tour team is still looking for a few more
homes for the tour to be held on March 26.
Call Jan Kawalski
at 219-680-8865 to have your home considered
for the tour.
